“Last night during the BN Supreme Council meeting, Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak announced that Government has decided not to table the Private Member’s Bill to amend the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act or RUU355 in line with the principle of consensus,” said myPPP President, Tan Sri M. Kayveas.
“It will remain a Private Member’s Bill and according to Najib if it is presented, it will depend on the Speaker’s instructions,” he added.
Kayveas told that it was a good decision by Najib, as it shows Government is serious about constitutional supremacy and further asserts the spirit of 1 Malaysia.
“BN component parties concern and opinions is well respected by Najib and this will be a morale booster for us to put in more effort in garnering support for BN,” he continued.
Kayveas went on to say that myPPP will stand rock solid behind Najib’s leadership and work to ensure BN wins and forms government with a bigger majority.
